I need to go unpack the firewood stand. I’m thinking some “hammered” spray paint and redwood 2x4’s will finish it off nicely.
Hell yeah brother

Picked up a couple redwood 2x4s, kind of got the kids to help sand for 5 minutes, then painted the uprights with hammered copper. The hammered effect doesn’t come through as well as other colors it seems, but I like it. Tomorrow I’ll throw them on the porch and stack some wood. I oiled them up with garage vegetable oil. It’s my oil of choice for quick “who cares projects” when I don’t feel like dealing with chemicals. And it’s food, so kids can help and see the color it brings out with no PPE.

They are impressive. I ordered the rear swaybar connect reinforcements, got an email thanking me for a miniscule $80 order, and a phone call when they shipped telling me to call with any questions when I installed them. I thought customer service like MC provides died years ago. I will certainly be buying more from them at some point.

Me too. I’ve gotten that call every time I’ve ordered from them. Including my hilarious accessory order just now. But they shine even more if you have an issue. They stand behind their products even when the customer is at fault. Which I definitely was.

I can’t wait to stack some wood on them. Knowing the paint will scratch how they’ll be used, I almost left them raw to just patina. But the paint was fun. They’ll touch up easily.

And I genuinely needed a firewood solution. This will only be for the small amount we’ll keep on the deck. I still need to come up with something for the rest, further away from the house. Too much?

Firewood rack is together and loaded up. I loaded it fully after I took these pictures, but I love it. It’s the simple things. Because everyone needs @Metalcloak wood storage…
