So have narrowed my next 37's down to one of these 3. What's it's going to come down to for me is durability, size and weight, those are the three factors I'm looking at and why I've narrowed them down to these three. Weight wise it looks like all 3 are around the same with the Milestars coming in at 72lbs and the Mastercraft and Cooper being 69lbs. I know BFGs run around this weight as well but run smaller than these 3 do from info I'm gathering from the internet and talking one on one with people running them. Haven't ever had any experience with the Mastercraft MXTs but it appears they are wider at 13.1 inches than most 37 12.5 17 tires and made by cooper so I guess win win there if I went with them. So here are they are Milestar Patagonia's, Mastercraft Courser MXt, and Cooper Discoverer At3 xLT, that's the 3 I'm feeling, leaning hard toward one after seeing a set in person today.

So now tell me why I should or should not buy one of these three and post up pictures of any mounted on a JT in a 37 12.5 17. It's a open discussion and I'm just trying to gather all the info I can. Post up real life measurements with them mounted as well.

After running Mastercraft AXT on my last truck, no way in Hell would I buy or recommend Mastercraft. Wore very fast, didn’t perform well at all in rain let alone snow or slush (probably wouldn’t have in dirt or mud either or else would have just had a piece of gravel pop them), and ended up cracking between treads. I can say I’ve never had a flat tire on a vehicle before but made it all up with those tires. Hot garbage.

I know they’re owned by Cooper, but I feel there’s no relation between the two.

I have ran Cooper AT3 -before they had any variations, but they looked similar to the XLT- actually on a Trailblazer first then put them on my JKU for winter because I liked them so much, and the ST Maxx and really liked those, albeit they felt pretty heavy. There’s a puncture test video on YouTube that sold me on the ST Maxx.

Last photo is mostly irrelevant except that my buddy was also running Cooper (STT Pro) and really liked them. Sorry I can’t say much on height or have any input on the Milestars. I’m currently taking advantage of the abundance of take-offs right now for the Gladiator, but if I was buying new I’d be going with Cooper again.

I'm very happy with the milestars, especially for the price. They(and the jeep) have only about 16k on them, I don't have a long commute.

Dang @Bantam that sucks. I was leaning more to those now after talking to two guys yesterday who swore by them. After reading what you wrote might have to rethink it some more.

It’s possible the MXT is a better tire and/or compound than the AXT, or maybe I fell into some factory fluke with mine. I’ve seen others recommend Mastercraft and wonder why my experience with them was so awful.

I’m sitting here thinking how many miles I’d actually put on them, and I only had that truck less than 3 years and put on about 30k miles total running the original set for at least a year. So I’ll call it 15-20k miles tops out of them and the tread depth would no longer pass a PA inspection.

It is your money, but keep in mind American manufacturing jobs are very stressed right now.
Cooper = made in USA
Mastercraft = made in USA
Milestar = made in Taiwan

By the way, i run the 37 bfgs so i can fit the soare underneath. You are right, they are a shorter 37, but that suited my needs.

If BFGS were closer in size it wouldn't even be a discussion, I'd be running them. They are definitely my favorite tire and definitely not 100% off the list.

I am in Pittsburgh PA, right now I'm looking at Cooper AT3 xlt, 285/75/17. $600 for four cash and carry. Cosmetic blemish on the white letters, they have 37's for $700 or $760. If memory serves. Hopefully going to look in person tom

If you get a chance and can look at the 37's, grab a measurement on them unmounted, I'm just curious.
