I’m throwing 35”x11.5” on it soon too. Fully stock it’s a hell of a desert runner. My fifth Wrangler 😎

Your bio says you live in Western North Carolina. I live there too. Where the heck are those desert looking mountains? I thought I have been most places here but never seen that terrain before. 🤔

I hear ya. Luckily I live on the outskirts of the insanity. If it weren’t for the kids and grandkids I would be out west somewhere too.

I LOVE NC. I was planning to live the rest of my days there.

I lived by the shore in the Wilmington area for over 6 years and it was great. One of the most beautiful areas in the whole country! I've been visiting my in-laws that retired there over 30 years ago every year and I LOVED NC. So wife and I decided to move there to help out when her parents started getting older. I saw the area go from a sleepy beach town to a Mecca for displaced New York/Jersey people abandoning the disaster of their own creation and when I called my favorite restaurant in town and they told me the first pen reservation was a week away, that was it for me I put our house up for sale.

We moved to the Mountains to a sleepy little town named Burnsville and I LOVED it there. I used to be a fan of Asheville and Boone so this put us kind of in the middle in the mountains. Within ONE year it changed from a place that I could go to and park right in front of the coffee house in town any time I wanted, to a place with a bunch of BMW and Audi SUVs full of rude people and restaurants that I had to wait an hour to get a table.

So my last try was Weaverville, which turned out to be a step back from Burnsville because it was more crowded and more Asheville type. Nice enough town on its own but every time I went into Asheville to a restaurant or to do some shopping with the wife I was overwhelmed by the liberal/homeless/pot smoking zombie crowds.

The last straw was parking (my then brand new Gladiator) by Mast Genaral Store in Asheville (one of my favorite stores one earth), and as I get out of the car I notice some dude high as a kite walking down the middle of the road cursing and threatening everyone on the street and then he start picking rocks and throwing them at street signs, people and vehicles. AND NO ONE DOES ANYTHING ABOUT IT!!!! Actually, I don't think I ever saw a cop in Asheville.

When he got closer to MY car I stoop in the middle of the street directly in front of him and my wife yells out, "Hon he's probably crazy!" and that made him look menacingly directly at us, just as I told my wife, "Well I'm going to cure his crazy PERMANENTLY today!"

He stopped, turned around and disappeared from the street I was on. I went back home that day and told my kids I was moving to the Southwest as they have been asking me to do for years (both of them live here with spouses and my grandchildren). There is no amount of money that could bring me back.... which is a pity. Again, it is gorgeous country.
