Mopar or Rugged Ridge Door Sill Guards

Mine came with the nice looking but not very protective stainless steel ones. I assume they're factory? They won't protect the painted edges at all over time but they look cool.

I put 4” wide 3M clear vinyl under to protect what’s not covered by the sill guard. They really stand out with the doors off

Yup, the same.

Did you put the tape over the stainless too or cut around it? If over the tape, how did you tuck it into the edges of the stainless without having wrinkles around the corners? Also, where did you buy the tape?

Rugged Ridge no issues, perfect coverage! The instructions do say to use an adhesive initiator.

Anyone have any opinions? I like the Mopar ones because of the branding but let’s face it, they aren’t much for protection. Which you buy?

Rugged Ridge here, no clue about the Mopar version but like mine.

I went with the rugged ridge for the extra coverage. Young kids happen to step everywhere, and you can tell the protection after seeing mud shoe prints that the mopar wouldn’t have protected.
