Hi folks, a search didn't turn up a clear answer. If this question shas been asked already please direct me to the thread.

I just purchased a 2022 Gladiator with the 8.4 radio/NAV package. What is the most current version of the maps available? I'd like to have a look at the radio to see if the maps are current. I'm expecting it isn't as this was a very early release 2022.

Even the most current update is not that recently updated. I would get a Support email address from the Map Update site and see if you can get an answer.

I would recommend a Map Update every two years. It will give you the most recent data, and a software update for the head unit (if one is available).

To me it is worth it because google maps sucks in big cities. The built in nav is much better for that.

This is me. I don’t trust any jeep maps they are wrong as stated above new maps are out of date. I use google maps for daily intown driving in the Dallas texas area. When I travel I use my Garmin overland gps. Yes it is expensive I can update the maps on the fly and because of it using 3 different gps systems even around tall buildings or in Death Valley where there is no cell signal I get a map along with trail maps in areas most people don’t know about. That is my story

I don't know about any of the above but I paid for the 8.4 Nav and I like it. It looks good, It is fairly accurate and satisfactory for my needs. I had the same thing in my Ram and I would get an email every now and then for purchasing an update.

Not worth it….regardless of what vehicle you own.

If streets don’t exist (for whatever reason), just keep driving…it’ll eventually reroute you.

Or use your cell phone…..

I did the upgrade - Massachusetts changed over exit numbering to reflect the mile marker 4 years ago. The update still does not have that Info so you still run the risk of missing your exit if you go by the nav.
What ‘s worse - the local roads, which reported the speed limit on the original Nav version, no longer has that data - instead when it does not know the speed limit for the road you are on it defaults to. 50. Try to explain that to your local LEO when you get pulled over doing 50 in a 35.
i returned the update and got my money back. Then bought the CarlinKit. No regrets.
you could buy a garmin with free map updates for less and still be way ahead of the poor excuse for Nav that the head unit offers.

Thank you for all the responses. Regardless of the quality of the system, I plan to use it occassionally and would like to keep the maps as current as is possible. Therefore, does anyone know what the most current map version is?

Unless someone has recently bought an update, that answer will have to come from the Support people at the Map Update site. When I bought the update for my 2020 a couple years ago, it was something like a year behind.
