I know there are enough info on radio installs but here’s mine.

Radio is a Powerwerx DB750X. I got it for $75 like 2 years ago. It was installed in my previous Ram 2500 and 3500 before I traded that in for the JT

Typical of new vehicles we can’t throw a radio under the dash like years before. Remote hear is pretty much out only option. I have a bulletpoint mounting solution and a I forgot the name NMO mount off the top of fender. I’ll cover that when it comes in. My antenna isn’t even NMO base but I’ve made it work

Forewarn, I’m not working on the space shuttle so not dealing with precision A professional radio installer never deal with precision either. I’ve installed 100’s.
Well maybe at least 80 by now.
One spot that always works for the main body have been under the seat, behind the rear seats, bottom of console. You have to consider Air circularon for those long winded jaw jackers.
Under seats usually require removing the seat. And low air circulation. Plus people in the back like to kick their feet under the seat.

bottom of console, again no airand in this not enough room and junk gets on top of it.
I’ll skip to my part and that is under the steering wheel. There’s usually a void at least for Sports trim. And lucky for me a couple of threaded bolt holes. Hmm ?

So look at the pics. I used a bracket I made for another radio no longer used. A little hammer work and made two L brackets. I used 3/16 rivets instead of machine screws. Everything went well in this section. Just make sure the tilt system doesn’t interfere.
I screwed up a tad. I meant to mount the bracket so gravity will hold it in place If it’s an issue later I’ll redo it.
Using one rivet is enough. And allows for some shifting around.
Bolt size, well you figure it out. I have a bunch of spare bolts and nuts for a reason. I think it’s M5 or M6.
I’ll cover the rest later.

Part deux
Control head

for this part remove dash. You have to first remove heater ac control by pulling it off.

then two screws at bottom of stereo, remove that bezel

then there is one screw that secures The dash other than those metal clips.

start at one end and work my way to the other. Dang clips some stayed in. I was able to recover them and put them back on

you then have to remover the stereo unit. Let it hang.

then take out enough of the top dash just to be able to lift the tray and drill a 5/8 hole.

once that is fine you can thread the RJ45 Jack in the hole being careful not to snap that tab

i left my cable cooled up nearest the control head and put it in a cavity space nearby

the other end, about 18” needed you can see daylight along the plastic panels. Thread it in direction to the main unit.

put it all together and button it back up.

Power is next and since I can’t slap a mag mount on the hood I’ll have to wait until I get my antenna mount

the control head is exactly where it will remain. Will bolt it down once the bullet point tray comes in

I thought about top of the dash to mount, but my phone will shut down from heat if it's in the sun too long, and didn't want to fry the radio. If I had a remote mount head like yours, I would have put the head in the space between the shift bezel, and the switch panel/cubby hole at the bottom of the dash.

And you'd be 100% correct!

It does heat up. So much I'm doing a heat shield for the control head. Stay tuned.
