So I’ve had my ‘22 Mojave for going on 2 weeks now. I definitely didn’t buy it to worry about mpg’s or as my daily work car as I’m driving about 75 miles round trip a day for work. I’ve got a diesel Cruze for that.
That being said though I drove it work today. 37 miles, flat as a board and no wind.
The info center is saying I averaged 16.4 mpg, but I’ll check it again when I top off on gas. I did reset the mpg before I took off this morning. I know it will improve slightly as I only have about 450 miles on it now.
Just curious what you guys are getting.
I figured I’d do 20 at least being that the conditions are about ideal. I get some of the best mileage in my Cruze here that I’ve had.

20 in the summer on the highway with no wind and using summer gas.

That's about the best you will see in a Mojave.

16.4 in the winter ? Yep. That's about what I see.

That’s true, wasn’t really thinking about the winter blend gas either.
Like I said definitely didn’t buy it for that and am loving it
This pic is from my Cruze so it’ll definitely be my go to for work and keeping miles down on the Mojave

In the summer, on the highway, I get 21 at 70-75 mph. To get the rated 23 mpg highway, you'll need to be going about 55 constantly, with no wind, no hills, no slowing down, no speeding up. Right now, I'm getting about 15.5 combined. In the summer, I get about 18.5 combined. I'm on 315/70/17s, but the stock tires weren't any better (33" MTs).

The biggest factor I’ve learned is speed. I commute 60 miles a day (all freeway) and at 75-80 mph I get about 16 mpg. I tried slowing it down to 65-70 and last week I hit 18 mpg. 4000 miles on the clock.
Definitely on the speed, I guess I left that out
62 mph no traffic to speak of and on highway with no stops/starts

I have a 2020 Overland (received in 7/19) with about 16K on it, stock suspension and tires. I have routinely gotten 19 mpg (summer, 18 mpg winter) running around and on the highway, 23+ mpg summer (22+ mpg winter) driving 70-75 mph...more typically 65-75 mph depending on traffic density...since brand new.

The first weekend I had it I drove from home to Boston, MA for my birthday weekend (watched the Red Sox CRUSH the Yankees at Fenway Park ? ? ? ) and got 23.4 mpg average for the trip. Calculated fill to fill which was pretty much in agreement with what the VIC was reading.

Why people are getting less than that with comparable vehicles must come down to driving style.

I typically do not go over 2,500 rpm on acceleration, taking off nice and easy, and trying to maintain as constant a speed as traffic allows.

Well I was definitely “babying” it coming in this morning and have been since it’s brand new.
And it sounds like we drive quite a bit alike

Trim and tires matter too. What tires are on your overland? I know the factory ones are narrower and more highway oriented. Also Rubicon and Mojaves are a little heavier. So many variables...
Does the Mojave have the same heavy metal rear bumper as the Rubicon? Ride heights, from the factory, on Mojaves/Rubicons are taller (Mojaves being the tallest). Driving on flat surfaces or is it hilly where you are?
