Name that leak!

Okay, so I had 450 miles on my new Diesel Rubi JT. A buddy crawled under her and says…how long has she been leaking? He took a photo, but he was too close to it, so the next week when I was back in his shop I took a couple. I guess my question should be…what’s that rectangular black cover and what’s it covering that would be leaking??? It’s located directly behind the freakishly low hanging oil pan on the bottom of the engine.

That aluminum case almost looks cracked looks like a weeping leak similar to a weld that isn't full sealed or melted all the way in on the edges of an oil tank. Hmmmm

Lol…unfortunately down here in FL if you see oil coming out, that means water can get in. He’s just looking out for me…and he’s as pissed as I was.
