Hi all - I've been in the market for a bed rack for some time. I have a 14' fishing kayak that I want to haul on top of my truck, and it exceeds the weight limit of roof bars. I also wanted full access to my bed, and since I don't plan on running the rack full-time, I wanted it to be pretty easy to take on and off. It took me a long time, but I finally found one that met my criteria and got it installed this weekend. I haven't seen it on the site before, so I wanted to share.

The rack is from Channellock - yes...the tool company. It was previously marketed as Multy, but I think Channellock bought them or at least the rights. The rack has several configurations - A standard single-bar with headache rack, or a two upright ladder rack. There are tons of accessories as well. What I liked about it is that there is a horizontal bar that runs along the bed rail that protects the sides of the bed and gives the whole frame some rigidity too.

Note - they do sell a headache rack window protector as part of the set-up if you want it. I ordered it for mine, but the bars are too wide. I sent them an e-mail letting them know (their customer service is GREAT and really responsive), but I think I'm going to keep the rack anyway, and use a band saw to cut the bars shorter. Assuming I can re-cap them, it'll work once I do that. Just need to find the time.
