Had my gears done and picked up today. Shop was excellent from start to finish.

Issue we ran into was programming and I’m still confused. I have an ECRI. Plug in the bypass, Bluetooth reader into OBD, use an app. When done you remove it all as their are no live features.

They called and weren’t familiar with the programmer if it would interfere with what they had (I called support and it wouldn’t.)

They got it done and tested the truck out.

Long story short- when I picked it up I didn’t bring my ECRI. They said because I don’t own the superchips, it would go into limp mode.

Great shop they are- they opened up a new superchips, programmed my truck and said it’ll get me home, then just program with mine and send theirs back via mail.

I know nothing about superchips and want to make sure I don’t mess it up. So…
-use it to restore truck to factory
-unplug the bypass and put it all back in the box. Done with it.

-plug mine in and program new gears and done ✅

My confusion was I thought (like my non live ecri) you program the gears and it stays with the ECU and you can unplug/ditch the programmer and it won’t matter since it’s saved on the ECU.

Does this all make sense? I just don’t want to mess it up because I’m nearly two hours from their shop and my truck is working perfect now, just don’t want to mess with it.
