Don't get me going on Cisco's VPN - that was SUPPOSED to allow Windows 10 to connect to the domain before launching the Windows GUI. I even went through Cisco support - and they were not able to make it work for us! That was that - I set up NCP VPN, the NCP gateway virtual server, etc. and it actually allowed a VPN connect to the domain so that the user could be authenticated to the domain going into Windows.Yeah....
Can we all agree Cisco AnyConnect is a PITA?
Not only that but NCP worked every single time and took 1/4 the time to connect, domain or not. I could setup domain groups to allow or disallow connections, if the machine wasn't a domain member, NO connection.
Yet central state IT loved Cisco - I finally got their lead guy to admit "It's because that's all I know". I figured it was time for him to expand his horizons LOL.
I never told the users what I was doing and one week my boss came to me and said users were contacting him telling him that whatever we did - made connections much faster and they had no issues with the domain once in.
But what was funny - Cisco said "it should work" and were never able to make it work.
And give me Juniper switches and firewalls.........
