Just wanted to say hello and thanks for the forum and all the available information!

We just bought a 23 Gladiator Rubicon for the wife (she may let me drive it occasionally) but I/we have had Jeeps most of our lives.

Past:
74 JC5
78 CJ7

Current:
81 CJ8
23 JT

I'll be doing a bunch of mods to the wife's new JT and looking for some help on leveling after a Poison Spider bruizer front bumper/winch install. Have flat fenders on the way as well and will likely go with a narrow 35" (10.5 or 11.5) tire on stock rims in the not so distant future.

Thanks
Allen

Welcome!

just curious- are you changing the fenders for looks? Or? 37’s will fit with a leveling kit, gas power will need 2” front bumps, diesel will need 3/4” front, both will need a 1/2” rear.
35’s would fit no bump and no lift.

If changing for the look ? do you :)

Awesome! Welcome! I started in a 79 CJ7 and then a 77 CJ5, similar to a couple of your rigs.

We like pics. Especially of CJ8’s. ?
Scrambler was my daily for many years with some minor mods along the way. It's stuck in project limbo behind a couple of muscle car builds. I started a v8 conversion (TPI 350) with a M465/dana 300 and have one ton axles under it (14 rear 60 front, both with 4:56 Detroit lockers), high steer arms and hy steering assist. Regretfully it still has a long way to go and I'm currently splitting funds and time between the wife's new JT, her 69 Camaro (owned for 35 years), and a 65 Cutlass convertible so the poor CJ8 will sit for quite a while :-(

Both looks and 35s for now, maybe 37s later (likely need gears so that will be a few years out)

Forgot her last jeep on the list, I built her a TJ with long arms, lockers, 35s, etc... we sold it about 5 years ago and she has missed it. It had flat fenders and we liked the looks and clearance!

Any recommendations on leveling the front/making up for the bumper & winch?

Any reputable lift manufacturer will have a leveling kit.
35" tires will fit a Rubicon without any lift, understanding you are trying to gain height back from heavy bumper and winch. You should be okay with just a 1" spacer in the front.

Unless you’re looking for a spacer- in which case Amazon and eBay have daystar pucks for cheap.

We greatly disliked how soft the factory fox rubicon shocks were and swapped out for some longer bilstien’s. Helped the stability and ride quite a bit.

edit- if you are going for a puck lift to level out the front end- measure the pinch seem on the front and rear of the cab to ground…

If you measure ground to fender, the front fenders sit higher on the rubicon… the pinch seem is in my opinion the easiest and most consistent.

I’m a newbie too. Just got sarge green sport Gladdy. Trying to learn about the wave, ducks, bedliners, tonneau covers, nerf bars (which I thought were running boards). Leveling out, aux switches, leds, and bumpers are in the future.
