What’s up guys? New member but have had Jeeps. ‘01 Wrangler, ‘12 Rubicon and now a ‘23 Gladiator Rubicon. The Gladiator I lifted 2.5”, 1.25 spacers and put 35” GeoLander X-MT’s.

I’ve got a question for the hive. Does this look like for the track bar?

Is that the track bar to the frame mount? Whatever it is, it's not right.

Yes it is to the frame. I put a socket on there to tighten it up with no luck. Do I need to jack it up to relieve the bolt?

That either has a captive nut or a lock nut on the other end. (I haven't actually looked at mine but my JK has a lock nut)

You should be able to tighten it with the wheels on the ground. You also want to make sure the hole has not ovaled out. The torque spec is 110 ft-lbs. If the bolt is damaged, replace it. The bolt is a M14x1.5 and it's 74.15 long

The lift was just put on last night so I’d guess the bolts haven’t been damaged. I’ll try to get a cheater bar on it to see if I can get it to go.

Was the lift installed by a shop or did you do it? That bolt head doesn't look pristine.

You may want to pull that bolt out and inspect it. Make sure that you have threads that are extended into the mount. Most M14 bolts are not full thread and it this one is not threaded far enough, it won't tighten against the mounting bracket. If that is the case, buy a new full threaded bolt. Don't just make up the difference with washers.

Did ALL the bolts get torqued when the truck was on the ground? They need to be torqued when on the ground.

Had a shop do it. He said he torqued them but from the looks it’s cross threaded.

I'd take it back to the shop and have them fix the issue immediately
I would but he’s out of town till next Monday. I went and bought new bolts for it but I can not get that existing bolt to budge.

It would not be wise to drive your Jeep with a track bar bolt loose. The movement of the bolt inside the housing will wallow out a very specific hole. Once that hole gets wallowed out you will have to replace a whole lot more than a bolt and nut.

I would highly suggest you do not drive it until fixed.

Put a wrench on the nut and wedge the wrench so it won't move, then put a breaker bar on the head of the bolt with a pipe extension and remove the bolt. Trust me, it will move. Then replace the bolt and torque to 110 ft-lbs.

Did you try putting a little heat to it?
