1. What's the weight limit on those carriers? My wife has an ebike that weighs in at ~50lbs according to our bathroom scale
2. Can those side covers be flipped up, as you show in other pictures, obviously without the bike being in the carrier?

1) Piece of cake, these mounts were specifically designed to handle e-bikes.

2) Yep, the side panels have an option to flip up OR down. The down position even allows you to use the panel as a shelf or cutting board surface.

Given the nature of the usage for these racks, we elected to NOT make it lockable.
