The amount of lift aloud is also based off the tallest option available. Im not sure if they will say it must be an option from the same model year.I live in Massachusetts (until I retire in 2 years) and most exciting part of it for me has nothing to do with buying one of these BUT its the specs. We have ridiculous lift laws which involve actual math formulas and the reliance of OEM equipment for legal standards. Let me explain…..maximum allowable mechanical lift for 4x4 vehicles is determined by wheel track x wheelbase divided by 2200. For the Gladiator, these numbers are 64.4 x 137.7 divided by 2200. This comes out to like 4.065 inches total mechanical lift for the gladiator. I have the Clayton 3.5 overland plus lift on my 21 Rubicon. (Legal)
The maximum allowable tire size is amount of allowable lift (4.065 inches) added to THE LARGEST TIRE FITTED TO THE VEHICLE FROM THE MANUFACTURER (previously 33” on the Rubicon) now its 37” so 39’s even 40’s on a Clayton 3.5 is legal and will pass state inspections.
Original Manufacturer's Height: The highest distance inclusive of the largest tires and highest suspension
available as standard or optional equipment for the particular vehicle from the original manufacturer.
