I hope I don't jinx this by posting about it, but my last little issue may have gotten taken care of today. ?
Took the JT in for the PCM flash and to try something on the repetitive CEL issue.
It worked out that I had some IT work to do in the shop as well, so I could keep close tabs on what was done.
They did the flash and they swapped the coil packs and plugs between 3 and 5.
My code was always P0305 (cylinder 5 misfire), so this was to see if the issue followed the ignition components or was something else, like the dreaded cam shaft issue.
Did the PCM flash fix it?
Did the swap fix it?
I don't know, but so far, so good.
I cannot make it throw the code under heavy acceleration anymore.
The mechanic and I went on a test drive with me at the helm and I gave it my all. Floored it several times uphill, and nothing but GO!
