The mods are probably climate change activists. If you get banned “again” we’ll see you win a week our so. I enjoy you intellect and unbiased your insights. If the mods get offended they should go drown themselves in the cereal they eat from their mother’s kitchen.
I was going to let this go, but “am1978’s“ annoying political comment prompts me to set the record straight:

Gore was quoting a NAVY scientist In 2009.

This is exactly word-for-word what Gore said:

“Some of the models suggest to Dr [Wieslav] Maslowski that there is a 75% chance that the entire north polar ice cap during some of the summer months could be completely ice-free within the next five to seven years.” Gore cited findings from climatologist Dr Wieslav Maslowski, a research professor at the Naval Postgraduate School.

Polar ice is ENORMOUSLY important to our military. For example it’s critical to our sub-based nuclear strategy. In 2009 and today most models show its MOST LIKELY that the Arctic starts having ice-free summers around mid-century. Obviously the Navy can’t just prepare for a “most likely” scenario and call it a day. They model more severe scenarios for preparedness. SOME of the models have to assume things about global methane and carbon emissions, ozone layer reflections, and the like which could accelerate the process.

So yeah, have a good laugh at a scientist who chooses to support our Armed Forces.

Seriously, the fact that it’s larger not smaller doesn’t matter? Only matters the it was some Navy guy over estimating intentionally. Facts don’t matter I guess, because it wasn’t even a close to REAL world prediction.

That’s cool. No big deal. Try not to take things so seriously. I could really care less if it was a Navy scientist who said it. As an Army (disabled) veteran and DoD civilian I have seen all sorts of mediocrity in my career. Just because the guy was a Navy Post Grad School researcher doesn’t make him special and it certainly doesn’t mean he was necessarily supporting our military, that’s simply his job. And he was wrong, so in my capacity I will laugh at him.

I was a civie in the DoD at one time. Some of the stuff I seen needs to be flush down the toilet. The bullshit that goes on to justify research money is insane. Research money for climate change is easy pickin's. That's why you seen a lot of scientists jump on the bandwagon. They made a easy living off of it.

He sure didn’t stop capitalizing on it when it became fact that he was full of shit. Hell, some are still buying it.

Alright you bunch of clowns, I'm fixing to knock out a quick hour or so of yardwork and get ready for a bunch of concrete being poured tomorrow and a crew coming in to finish up a 12 X 24 Tuff Shed that was started on last week.
Was going to take the wife out for dinner for our 40th Anniversary but she just finished up week 3 of 5 weeks of radiation for breast cancer and isn't feeling it. Our daughter did take us out for breakfast this morning before the fatigue set in so we enjoyed that.
I had a couple of Mohs surgeries on Thursday to get rid of some skin cancer so just been trying to take it easy since.
I know it's not the way to celebrate such an event but life ain't always rainbows and unicorns. Once the Gladiator gets here we plan on doing several days driving up the Pacific Coast Highway and relaxing from all of the projects that have been going on since I moved up here in February.
Going to buckle down for the NASCAR All Star Race when I finish up the yard.
Have some new nonsense posted up by the time I get back!

@aceisback, not the kind of nonsense you are seeking, but Cold Gin is a great KISS cover band if you ever run across them. They played a Halloween gig I attended last year.

Thanks. Out here in SoCal we have KISSed Alive as the “premier” KISS tribute. Every now and then Mini KISS rolls through. Those dudes are a riot.

Saw the real Ace Frehley and Alice Cooper a couple weeks back.
