Just installed an OEM steel bumper on my JT Rubicon yesterday and I have a question for those who have done the same. With the stock bumper, the wiring harness has a small plastic fastener that fits into a hole on the bumper frame/rail and this keeps the wired connection tucked in tight to the bumper rail. However the light wiring harness from the new bumper seems to be shorter (or maybe the distance traveled is longer) vs the stock plastic bumper. So the wiring harness/connection/assembly no longer reaches the bumper rail and instead just sort of goes across from the bumper to the rail and seems to be very exposed. Is this normal? Is there an extension of some type that can help keep the connection tucked closer to the rail and or bumper itself?

Bumper swap was pretty easy and staight forward, although I'm waiting for a new skid plat to replace the old one. Had to lossen the side brackets to get the holes lines up for the steel bumper, but other that that, it was an easy fit!

Sorry, I figure photos might help. This is what it looks like now after connecting the fog lights.

The yellow circle is the hole for the black fastener on the plug from the light wiring. Once connected it’s too short to fit back in. Just not sure if it will be problematic.

I would cut that tape that looks like it’s shortening your wire and zip tie it all up nice and tidy.

Doh! Great call on the masking tape. I didn’t consider cutting it thinking it was supposed to keep the wires together…not just as a shipping precaution. Looks much better now and I’ll clean it up better in the light of day! Thank you very much DirectHit!
