I changed my oil and the oil filter did not come out with the cap like I have seen on numerous videos. This is my third oil change. It is stuck in the cannister portion and needs pulled out. I have now tried several different filters and they do the same. My concern is that something is broken (it all loks ok) and in this position it is bypassing. Does anyone have the same issue or experience with this.

My first question to you would be... are you installing filter into cap, it locks into cap, if so and if not are the locks broke off cap would be my first check...

I changed my oil for the first time today and after getting a closer look at everything I’d say you need to get a new cap

I got an new cap. Comparing them there was no difference. I talked to 2 dealers and an independent Jeep specialist and they all said it was 50/50 whether the filter comes out on the cap or remains in the canister so I'm not going to worry about it.
