As a spare on running a set of 38”.. I can get it under bed. Jt rubicon. Mainly worried about it running locked up

No. the only way to run a tire that much smaller would be front only and 2wd. You'll increase wear on the rear with that much difference in tire regardless of open diff or not. not to mention your abs and traction control would be freaking tf out. You could probably limp it on the rear but i wouldn't do highway with it. remember 37s generally measure a 1-0.5 under 37in as well. You can fit a 38 under there with a specific track bar that has a bend in place for that application. you definitely couldn't run it with lockers.
