I believe a lot of the bed cover options come with 2 or 4 drain hoses which are intended to route water/moisture from the channels along the sides away from the truck. The TruckCovers USA cover specifically has 4: two at the front, under the roll canister itself, and two at the rear.
Their instructions say to drill 4 holes and use the provided grommets. Interestingly they don’t even have you reuse the plugs at the front, which I know the Rugged Ridge cover says to use.
In any case, I realized there’s already 4 holes at the perfect locations. The rears are roughly 5/8” diameter and the fronts are 5/8” x 1” ovals, accounting for the slight bedliner overspray. It turns out, this is almost a perfect fit for them: https://www.homedepot.com/p/3-4-in-Plastic-PEX-Barb-90-Degree-Elbow-5-Pack-PXPAE345PK/301541108
It says 3/4”, but the barb is closer to 1/2” - it was actually loose in the holes. To “fix” this, I used one layer of cloth tape and it snuggled right up. The hoses I got were about 3/4” ID, so they were a hair loose, but easily solved with zip ties (which I was going to use anyways).
Just thought I’d share, I’m pretty happy with the results.
