Then you know logistics - which are trucked, which are rail-shipped, which are a combination, and where are the full loads going (like many dozens) compared to 2 or 3?
Full loads to Gupton will ship quicker than a truck waiting to go to an area where only a couple of others are going?
I don’t even know if that’s always the case, my first Jeep came from a very small dealership, I ordered it new and it showed up at the dealership in 3 weeks after order, so I dunno if it’s more of a parts availability thing or what, or the whole Covid thing slowing down the process, I just know orders are taking much longer than they did 2 years ago to get out.

It's not just THAT dealership - it means others in that area. If 3 dealerships in my area each ordered a couple, it's more likely they'd show up here sooner than if a large dealership miles away ordered 2 or 3.
I've gone through this when having classic cars shipped. They want full trucks. If they can fill a load with cars going to 5 dealerships in a given area, they'll get those sooner than a dealership out by itself ordering fewer. Logistics. They want full loads.
If your first Jeep came quickly to a small dealership, there's a great chance that transport also had vehicles bound for other dealerships along the way.
It can take weeks to get a single vehicle transported from here to TX for example, but if 2 or 3 of us who have cars bound for Texas get together, they'll have a full trailer and get there more quickly.

It took 1 week to get my Javelin from Iowa to the new owner Texas because the driver had 2 other vehicles to move along the same route. (his trailer held 3 vehicles)
It took me a month to get a car from CA to Iowa because there were no other cars headed this way along the same route. I had to wait until a guy from IL was done delivering in CA and was heading back home in IL and was willing to stop here.

Orders are just much more slower getting out to the majority than they were a couple years ago, not sure why

Ordered Jan 4th. VIN assigned Jan 22nd. Delivered Feb 19th. It was really a quick turn around. It helped that mine was a base (yes manual locks and windows) sport max tow. Dealer said with supply shortages the more basic the vehicles they order the faster they arrived.

And we'll probably never know all of it - my bet is multiple reasons.

My doctor wanted to get me back onto a med I dropped 5 years ago. He electronically sent it into the pharmacy. An hour later I get a call - back order, we can't get it............ our supplier has no idea when it will be available again.
Thank your god that we're talking only vehicles, and not "must have" things.

Jeep relies on multiple vendors - frame, body, and other stuff are built by partner vendors. On the same campus, but a different entity technically. If there's any hitch getting engines up from Mexico, that slows things, getting parts to make the frames or bodies, it's just crazy how many things have to come together. And if they are like other businesses, like those here in Iowa - they are still short-staffed. So if there's a quality issue - where does it go - is it a body issue? Electric? Engine?
What happened when they figured out the axle leak thing - Dana changes the design......... how does that impact production? Do they use up the few differentials left on campus that day, or stop things until the new design arrives? I don't know....... I'd hate to even guess.
Production, vendor production, supplies to the vendors, transport of engines to Ohio from Mexico, the transmissions are med on another campus, if I recall correctly, maybe tire supply issues?
Has anyone found a pattern based on tires and/or wheels? Even if they did - it might change next week!

Ain't arguing with ya, not even a minor "disagreement", just suggesting you are right - yes, it's taking a lot longer in most cases, but suggesting the reasons are multiple.
One thing most can agree on - it's a crazy world. And I'd bet anything our parents said the same thing 50 years ago!

Ordered 01/31/22. Been shipping status since Feb 22. Hopefully shows up some day.
Ordered the last week of January. Has been built and sitting at the shipping lot for two months now. Some get picked up quick and some get left behind.
Could be SHORTAGE of workers......... like transport. Trucking things is taking a loong time because of the huge increase of orders for goods and not enough people to operate trucks. You need to talk to one of my truck driving friends - he'd give you an ear full on some of the reasons for this sort of thing.
In this same boat and dealer tracking went down about a week and a half ago. Sitting in a shipping yard with no ETA... word from a competitive trucking company driver is MCS dropped the ball with 2-3k units and thats why a good chunk are sitting in a mud pit somewhere.
Ironic how most of our vehicles after that came in caked in mud right off the truck, so maybe his story holds some truth.

Regardless... ordered 1/17, released from body vendor and kz status 2/24 with invoice in hand... still sitting in Cassens lot yard waiting to be picked up with no way to communicate with a stellantis rep and all JC can see is it's "TBD" ?

That’s ridiculous, might be better off just canceling and getting one from the lot

Interesting thing about that - I tried to find a JT Overland on the lot anywhere in the US - none out there in either blue or snazzberry.
They are all lacking either tow package or some other features. There are overlands out there - but those I found only matched either 7 or 8 out of 11 criteria.
Every JT I've looked at on dealer lots was missing things - they never order anything very "loaded".
I can do without some stuff - but no way I'm stepping down to one that has less than the one I have already.
Every time I thought, hey, the price is up there, 60K plus, it must be a loaded Overland - it ended up being a High Altitude that wasn't loaded.
I was willing to drive if there was one on the lot.

I like the looks of the high altitude but don’t want 20” wheels. Lol

What don’t you like about the granite crystal? That’s the best color imo, but then again that’s mine, but they look hella classy in that body color.
