Does the storage box under the rear seat support the seat, or can the seat still be used with the box removed? I know if you order without the storage option there's a plastic divider in its place. I've been wondering if the rear seats are still usable without the storage box or the divider.

The seats do not sit on top of the box or on top of the divider. No kidding. There’s a picture in this forum showing that they sit on some small supports in the below rear sections of the seats.

The whole storage bin can be removed and carried separately. It is just one long piece and comes with a carry handle.

Hey jhale1800 I looked up some pictures for you so you can see what the rear seats actually sit on. As Moonridge pointed out you can completely remove the storage box, and then it would then look like the seats are floating on air. But they are actually held up by the square pads that you can see in these pictures. I drew some yellow lines in one of the pictures showing you where 3 of these pads are. And in one picture you can see a gap between the top of the box and the bottom of the seats. Someone reported that you can get a finger into that gap. So it’s clearly not sitting on the box or being held up by the box.
