We are thinking about this product, I have done some research, it is a simple looking product, but also has some interesting designs.
For me, I think this is one of my favorite modification parts, I use it to store folding knives, sunglasses, walkie-talkies, and other small items. But my complaint about it is that the steel plate is too thin and has been deformed during transportation, but I don’t think it’s a big deal when I use it.
But I personally don’t understand the molle that extends to the top of the head. I think it will rub my head, not to mention hanging anything.

I have some ideas:
1. Make a basic molle with the correct holes, just splice it to reduce shipping costs and use thick enough steel plates, of course, it will also have our usual removable logo
2. Make a molle with integrated map light, we all know that the factory map light of Wrangler/Gladi is not bright enough, maybe power it from the factory map light, but I haven’t studied it carefully, just an idea.
3. The overhead molle on Amz is good enough, we shouldn’t invest too much energy to reinvent the wheel
What do you think? Any experience or suggestions? Or where else do you think you would like to see a molle panel added? Thank you very much!

I found some pictures from the internet in case anyone doesn't know what I'm talking about

I have had my overhead Molle for 3 years. It was the first mod I made. My wife uses it to store hear “entertainment” stuff when we travel and overland. I have my GMRS mounted up top as well. We have never had an issue with rattles (that was my main concern). It’s just a great way for added storage.

Yes! I think this is almost a must-have mod for Gladi/Wrangler. It saves my cup holder from being such a mess. But this is also what I was thinking, it seems that a basic molle is enough to get the job done, it just sits there quietly, without deformation, noise or rust.

Aluminum not steel. I'd prefer one across the back seats and above as nobody hardly ever sits there.

I’ve had the JCR overhead for a few years now and had no issues. It’s just enough for storage and radio mounting. An easy removable Midland GMRS a couple of small usb rechargeable steamlights , seat belt cutters, folding knife, and sunglasses holders fit nicely. And I can stick some maps and a Garman gps up there also. It’s really sturdy and well made and easy to install.

I have the center front version(amazon) whatever you do, install one and look at how it attaches to the freedom top hold downs. (the part where the latches "hook" on to.) Mine was a serious pain the the azz to get lined up. I ended up using a long flathead to hold the hold downs in place while i reattached them. Its gotta be something to do with the way the molle panel is made.

First time i installed itthe freedom top was so badly misaligned it leaked in the car wash.

also, factory bolts are total crap, and strip out easily. It would be a very cool thing for a manufacturer to include replacements for those 4 bolts above the roll bar behind the passenger seat(the ones that hold in the pegs for the freedom top latches).

maybe i got a wonky panel, it was from amazon after all. But that's my 2c on the molle panel lol
here are the pics of mine installed

I currently don’t have one but if I did I would want one that was able to fit a Starlink Mini in it.
