Twice I got a pedal malfunctio, hard to read the dash and drive, I think it said throttle control it was long and filed dash up. Anyway 1st time it happened I floored the pedal to beat red light (I won lol) and then the pedal went limp and no response, like the older cars when you get to 100mph and then it would drop off for second (forget what that sensor is called) so then it kicks back in and we all good. the 2nd time I was just showing someone the diesel power and floored it, this time the pedal got stuck wide open and the same malfunction light came on, as soon as I mashed on breaks it gave me back control at the pedAl. Both these actions were not a split second recovery time, each took at least five seconds to give me back control over pedal/throttle. Maybe the next time I can read dash fast enough always on busy road.

Curious if you've physically checked the pedal?

At about 3:02 the guy show how you disconnect it.

The good news is that you can recreate it if you need to bring the service guy for a ride along. Haha

Thanks great video and yeah I checked out the area of pedal I will probably unplug and reply it just to see what that does… but I am really thinking on the banks monster pedal now. Hmmmm maybe even adding the derringer plug and play extra hp/torque , not that the diesel needs anymore torque but it would be fun to pick at the none tuned bigger diesels ???

I had a similar problem with my JKUR and it turned out to a short in a wiring harness on the 5V throttle return line. When it shorted, I'd lose all throttle function.

How did you discover the short, was it dealership work?

No, I have a mechanic I trust that's a master tech and also happens to be really good at finding electrical problems.

I don't know if it will fix your current problem, but the Banks Pedal Monster will definitely make you Jeep a lot more enjoyable to drive. One of the best mods I've done and I thought they were ridiculous before I purchased one.
