Pedal Monster 3.6, I'm converted.

How does it affect mpg? I’m assuming it takes a hit?

When the Pedal Monster was installed on my 3.6, my mileage didn't really change. It gives you a much more responsive petal so I'm sure it dropped a little the first few days until I got used to it but overall it stayed the same. On my diesel, it actually helped a little mpg because the throttle felt smoother.

Before buying a Pedal Monster, I also had a Pedal Commander for a few months. It worked but the throttle wasn't nearly as predicable. After 3 months, I started getting error codes related to the throttle. Their customer service was good and they replaced it but by that point I had bought the Pedal Monster. It works much better so I sold the replacement when it came in. I've never had any trouble with the PM.

Back in my day
we just flipped the air cleaner lid
upside down.

...and left the distributor just "snug" so you could manually advance the timing a couple degrees when you had the money to buy the good gas.
