I am curious about this and am thinking of one after reading reviews.

Curious though, I know it basically sends a more powerful signal to the throttle body etc "not expecting mpg increase with this thing" but is it safe for the transmission when the throttle hits like that?

And has anyone had any electrical demons with this brand?

I don't want to void my warranty, but I really want better throttle response.

It doesn't send "a more powerful signal" to anything.
It ONLY remaps the throttle rheostat to bring things in more linear fashion instead of a curve.
The "throttle doesn't hit like" anything.
It does NOTHING for power - NO change.
It does nothing for MPG - you control that.
It doesn't increase any signal or make anything stronger.

It simply changes the curve. Nothing is changed in the signal otherwise. The throttle body doesn't get that signal at all - the PCM does, and IT handles the throttle body based on input from the pedal rheostat. The Banks unit only remaps it.

Banks Pedal Monster.. running is on the 21 for 3 years now.. Our Dealer has no issue; we leave it operating. 3 levels to choose, 10 steps in each. We run on 1st Level for City.. Banks website has good info. Have one waiting to install on the 23 Mojave now. BTW it did resolve the immediate throttle lag; you can impact MPG and when driving with the cruise control the throttle is not moving and no signal from Banks is impacting MPG; just our experience. Hope this Helps..

you can impact MPG
If there's a change, it's due to how the person is driving.

Buy it for the remapped throttle - making it more linear like a 1970s carburetor with a throttle cable. It makes it feel more like things used to be.

These days things are programmed to give best MPG and traction control......... this takes us back a few years, IMO. The throttle lag programmed in likely improves mpg because they take away the ability for a "jackrabbit take-off". It's more like your grandmother may hit the throttle - slow and careful.

Did they fix the reverse safety feature? I had read that it didn't work with the gladiator.

I had a Pedal Commander in my Canyon for years (many years ago). It just makes the gas pedal more sensitive…..Push it a little and you get ‘more’ (per say). I bought it to help with the Canyon’s chuggle stutter issue. I eventually stopped using it and took it off. I gained some weight in my right foot instead. 😆

It’s not any different than stepping on the gas harder…. It won’t change anything else other than the throttle pedal position.

If you’re having physical problems with your legs, back, feet, etc…. This is probably good for you because there’s less effort in physically stepping on the gas pedal.

Learn how to step on the gas harder. 😉

Here is a good video explaining the what exactly the Pedal Monster does vs what the Pedal Commander does. I had the Pedal Commander in previous vehicles before I knew about the pedal monster and I had tons of issues with including putting the truck into limp mode and completely shutting down the throttle so it would not even work. I wouldn't touch a Pedal Commander with a 10ft pole. I have had no issues with the Pedal Monster.

I've been running the Pedal Monster and Derringer for almost 3 years now. The Pedal Monster makes the EcoDiesel go pedal more responsive, before there was so much delay in the throttle response curve that the turbo would take forever and a day to spool up. The Banks product eliminates that issue. The Derringer is also worth the money as well. It's a completely different truck with both products.

The Reverse Safety is fine, it turns off the excess power just enough as it should.

I read that to imply that it will remove (maybe better said, “lessen”) the slight hesitation that I feel coming off of my clutch, and onto the throttle, from a stop. Is that correct?

I’m a dinosaur, cables and carburetors were the end of my learning curve, or cliff…

My Challenger Scat Pack changes pedal sensitivity too when it sport or track mode.
