That looks like a fantastic trip. Well worth the getting through the hardest parts. This is everything I got from the trip. The scenery is beautiful out there.
I felt your pain on this one. I have painted fenders too. Did the other Gladiators make it through unscathed?Watching the videos and hearing the fender smack that wall, I was incredibly surprised it didn’t exit the vehicle altogether! The Wrangler guys are looking at doing Big Bear in February, although I think we might have some late snow coming our way so we’ll see.
I’ll never forget this sound ?
@mx5red can post his damage report, but it was very little compared to mine. As the Jeeps went on, the spotting got better and better. The red gladiator had some scratches on the grey section of the fenders but I don’t even think he lost any paint. If you watch the video my wife is in the white JLU that went through. Her bushwhacker fender just bent up and out of the way then came back down again with minimal damage. She was on a great line. Just about everyone leaned on their mirrors, one broke if I remember correctly. All had very minor pinstripes on door handles, and our spotter who went down without help took the most damage. He destroyed his hard top, broke his mirror, lost a taillight, but somehow the window survived.I felt your pain on this one. I have painted fenders too. Sounds like I may need to keep this one on the back burner for a bit longer. Overall looks like a great adventure tho. Way to get after it.@mx5red can post his damage report, but it was very little compared to mine. As the Jeeps went on, the spotting got better and better. We saw a couple gladiators out there by themselves, you could tell they had been here before. They both had 38s/40s and all four fenders removed. You live you learn.Sounds like I may need to keep this one on the back burner for a bit longer. Overall looks like a great adventure tho. Way to get after it.
I got some light rash on the gray edge of my front fender and my door handle.@mx5red can post his damage report, but it was very little compared to mine. I don’t think that was from the wall to be honest. I do remember you pivoting in the rock garden/s turn area on your sliders. That’s probably where it came from most likely. I didn’t have anything on my sliders after the squeeze, and those guys that were behind us all day said I didn’t even touch the slider there.I got some light rash on the gray edge of my front fender and my door handle.
I didn’t notice this for a couple days but I think my rock sliders probably helped keep me out of the wall too much
