I worked for Sears repairing appliances. The new ones
average a repair every two years.

The thing that pisses me off with new cars is the software in them. It stops being supported after a certain number of years so things like remote start stop working. Some require you to buy a subscription to operate certain features.

Auto makers have been heading toward subscription based features for a long time now.

Had a Sony Dash I used as a weather station. Instead of just ending support, they remotely bricked it. Imagine if car companies did that!

I predicted cars as a service back in 16.

You pay your subscription, one trundles up when you need it on the app, trundles off to do other stuff when you get out.

Most vehicles built today will not be in in Classic Car Shows 30+ years into the feature unless trailer in as dead bricks.
