Yup that's a Golight. I use them often. I don't use one on my gladiator but if I was the op, this is what I'd buy. Only problem is sometimes using them in multiples their programming can go hay wire and a remote will control others and vice versa
Ok googled it. Found them on Amazon. So about $7-900 USD. That’s about $1200 CDN. Could surround my JT with about 20 cheap off shore LEDs for that price.?

If you want something more flexible, I bought this light. https://www.fenix-store.com/fenix-lr50r-multifunctional-search-light-12000-lumens/

It costs more than a flash light, but less than the fixed searchlights and is scary bright. I bought a RAM mount that lets me mount it to a rail. I use it on my boats, my UTV and have a T slot ball mount that lets me put it on the t slot rail on the bed of my Gladiator. A lot cheaper than separate lights mounted on everything.

This would be a great mod for driving at night and shooting at critters. We tend to take my gladiator around at night when its too cold or hot or bugs are bad. And guys sit in the bed and shoot off the roof. We use spotlights but have to roll down the window which can be annoying especially when the mosquitos are out. Not certain I'd want as a permanent mod but can def see a use.

So after going back and forth doing some research and seeing if it’s possible, I’ve decided to take the risk and attempt to DIY the unity spotlight for the JK onto my JT. I have purchased a unity spotlight and the mounting kit for a JK. I know it will require some careful measurements and drilling into the driver side A pillar but I think it will be worth the risks. Hopefully it turns out well! More updates to come!

Anytime I was issued a patrol car without a spot, I always insisted they have one installed. Even paid for some out of my own pocket. I was old school and these always worked great for me.

First off... you do you boo boo. Will I ever do it... no, that being said if you were to install one and use it to lets say "check for burglars and happen to see a deer" that's one thing.

But why? Police spotlights are meant for a purpose, such as to direct a light toward a dark car or illuminate a suspect for a lineup. Other than the gimmick-ness of it, there's no real benefit. Most modern police cars no longer have the directable spotlights anymore, either.

They are most commonly used for also finding addresses for those who work at night. Probably the most common use, besides night time traffic stops.

Also not sure where you got the info but there's still tons of modern types that still have spotlights. Every car I've had has had one. I'll be getting one of the new Durangos here soon which have them. I've had Crown Vic (of course they arent modern), Taurus Interceptors, and Caprice PPV's all with them. And I know a lot of the new Chargers, Explorers all have them at least where I am.

And I speak from experience.

Besides I don't know why anyone would want to put one on their JT. Most are crap or eventually turn to crap anyways and bounce around and have issues. Probably even sooner on a Jeep wheeling. Normal fogs or other KC lights would do the trick at night.

Back in the day, most of those spot lights broke or became too loose to stay in place within a few years or less.

Unfortunately no, I contacted the manufacturer of the spot light and was advised not to do it. It would involve drilling into the roll bar on the Gladiator and would be a safety risk.

I am still open to doing it but will need to figure how to add a hole to the roll bar and strengthening it so it doesn't become a failure point.

The roll bar is extremely hard to drill through. Check out what Rockhard 4x4 says:

"The engineers produced an extremely hardened, odd shaped tubular design. In developing our Cage Brace System, we broke virtually every drill bit in our building. The tubing is unlike any material Jeep has ever used, certainly in the occupant safety realm.

Why 2 drill bits? Because odds are, you'll need 2. The new factory cage material, while only 14 gauge, is hardened. It takes a very slow (300 RPM ideal, 500 RPM max) drill process and a special hardened cobalt drill bit to penetrate. Your big box store drill bits will not work. The die grinder tree will help you remove burs and finish out the holes. You aren't required to purchase, but may very well need, an additional Drill Bit Pack."

Chances are depending on the hole size, you wouldn't need to strengthen it.

Get a roof mounted fixed position spot. Drill through the fiberglass and go to town. In fact, you could put one on either freedom panel and have both sides covered. Or go thermal / FLIR. https://getnightride.com/
