If those were dynamic weight limits, then the static would be 2 or 3 times higher.
But if that was static, then the dynamic would be awfully low.
Static, sitting still.
Dynamic, traveling down the road.
I assumed they are static as it was phrased as “load capacity”, so for a truck bed rack if it’s a 1100 lb static load I roughly figure a 660 lb dynamic load which I’m good with.

The 480 lb static would only give around 160 - 240 dynamic which is awfully low, I agree.

Hence why I’m not taking the risk on aluminum and going for the steel as I want it to be load bearing and not just a “canopy”.

Here is the comparison sheet they provided me:

As an FYI, these below are the prices for steel caps. Type 1 is solid doors. Type 2 is solid doors with one of the three types of exterior panels, and Type 3 is with windows.

I'm doing the Type 1 in steel for the same reasons as @Cattywumpuss wrote above. A RTT, especially a larger one is going to be at the limit of the static weight on the aluminum.

I haven't had a chance to update the spread sheet with these, I'm hoping to have some time later today.

Here's the updated Google Sheet with the steel versions and the info sheet @Cattywumpuss posted above.

When you click the link it will prompt you to make a copy. Once you're done, DM it back to me and I'll get your shipping quote.

Hopefully the preview embedded is helpful.

Now, just in case I shot a copy to @ChrisNLA to tweak. When converting from a Sheet to an Excel file on Google it loses the check boxes and formula for some reason.

Thanks again to @ChrisNLA for his help. I use a Numbers for Mac and it doesn't always play nicely with M$ apps and Google.
