Haha, I did the same thing. No price comparison to what your doing.
I do like the little wing/kickout thingy on the back of the canopy, but not for the price difference.
IKR?

Initially I had sent messages to a couple outfits with a similar style but they appeared to be unwilling to comm via the site's messenger app and wanted to do everything over email and WhatsApp. From what I gather those may not all be scammers but most are. It even got to a point on Alibaba/Aliexpress where the scammers reported me and I couldn't message anyone. Alibaba's chat support got it straightened out but also confirmed this is typical of the scammers- they report anyone who doesn't agree to WhatsApp comms.

Part of why I'm working with Ruby/YT Pioneer is the comms have been outstanding. Her command of English is far superior to most of the people I've messaged with, responses come fast and the pricing is much better.

That said, I'm almost done my order spreadsheets I sneak peaked earlier. She's getting me a few more prices on some items to finish building it out. She should have them to me tomorrow, she signed off for the day not long ago.

Once I have that done I'll post here and we can go from there.

Anyone want to take a stab at converting a Numbers for Mac file to Excel that uses checkboxes?

I have everything lined up but when I convert it on my Mac my formulas go away and my checkboxes become "TRUE" or "FALSE"

I wound up throwing it into Google Sheets. It was much easier. I don't use any M$ apps but most things translate seamlessly between Numbers and Excel. Except checkboxes apparently.

Hmm. I like it, but I also feel like it could be a little janky. Hard to tell on the one photo.

I'll dig into this more myself today and see if anyone has a chinese topper with a flip out kitchen on the YouTubes.
Yes KayakUSA does

Update:

Ruby said that the interior cargo boxes cannot be done one each or a mix and match of the standard and kitchen boxes. The shape of the boxes is different left to right.

So, as @ChrisNLA was saying earlier (and I agree completely) if you want to try the kitchen boxes and then bin the folding stove shelf on one side thats likely your best bet. TBF, the SmartCap and others are 2x the price of the pair for just one side.

I have a spreadsheet that will get polished up and posted here with all the selections. I set it up with the info about the tents, awnings, caps for quick reference.

When you fill out the sheet, DM it back to me. I'll take your selections, address info and get a shipping quote from Ruby and send it back to you.

Once that happens, you'll contact their store directly via the site's chat feature and BE SURE to ask for Ruby.

Once you've made contact with her, upload to her a copy of your order form to get the pricing I've worked out. She will create a purchase order based on your selections and provide you with payment info.

Attached is the final pricing in a fillable Excel file (thanks to @ChrisNLA for converting).

The workbook has multiple pages so be sure to go through all of them.

Please fill it in, DM it back to me and I'll get the shipping/freight charge quotes to you ASAP.

I've negotiated the pricing to get this down as low as possible.

Some folks have approached me about doing caps for other trucks. That's entirely possible, I just need year, make, model to check if they've got the measurements already. If not, she's given me instructions on how to measure for the cap.

I will get this filled out tomorrow and will send it your way. May I DM if I have questions?

Thanks!

Bumping this back up.

@Cattywumpuss and I were discussing over PM the options.

Something to consider: The manufacturer offers a steel top as well.

The difference between them is pretty substantial:

Aluminum: Weighs about 70KG/155lbs. Can support up to 200KG on top or about 485lbs.

Steel: Weighs about 100kg/220lbs. Can support up to 500kg on top or about 1100lbs.

Most of the RTTs on the order sheet are in the 70kg/150lb range. With 2 people the aluminum may push the limit on the capacity but steel is well within.

I was sold on Aluminum until I considered the weight and capacity.

The other part:

Steel is substantially cheaper than aluminum. $600 for a type one cap is a major improvement. I'm going to update the order sheets accordingly.

Are those numbers static or dynamic?
That would make a difference.

True, but even if static by the time I put a tent up there and 2 adults I figured I’d be bumping up against the weight limit of the Aluminium top.

I’m going with steel for the higher strength and weight bearing capacity. Figured it’s a decent trade off given it’s only a bit heavier.

If those were dynamic weight limits, then the static would be 2 or 3 times higher.
But if that was static, then the dynamic would be awfully low.
Static, sitting still.
Dynamic, traveling down the road.
