Hi everyone, I’m in Arizona and recently went up to some snow. I had to go up a driveway to a cabin with about 8 inches of snow. I tried 4 low but needed moment so I put it in 4 high traction control off and if I held a steady petal it would bog down when it spun and wouldn’t rev up past around 4k rpm then bog down. Is this a safety feature they have to protect the 4wd system? I have 35x12.5 toyo rt’s they didn’t perform amazing but I didn’t wanna air down for just a driveway. Let me know what you guys think. Thank you

Did your press and hold for 5 seconds or just quick press?

you need to do the press and hood.

That is weird. I noticed a similar thing in my JK when I had to plow through a lot of mud last year. I was flooring it but it would occasionally bog down. I couldn’t figure out why.
Yeah, traction control, when it kicks in does more than just applying brakes.
It cuts fuel/power, and lots of other things that can be detrimental off-road or when you need wheel speed/spin.

Do you know if there’s any way to bypass it? It’s very frustrating, and yes traction control was off

I believe that’s to turn off traction AND stability control.
No, basically your modes are fully on, both partially off, and Both fully off. Even though the screen says tc off, it's really only "partially off" until you turn both off fully. No option for TC only. Direct from the manual:

ESC On
This is the normal operating mode for the ESC.
Whenever the vehicle is started, the ESC system
will be in this mode. This mode should be used
for most driving conditions. Alternate ESC
modes should only be used for specific reasons
as noted in the following paragraphs.

Partial Off
This mode may be useful if the vehicle becomes stuck. This mode may modify TCS and ESC thresholds for activation, which allows for more wheel spin than normally allowed.
To enter the “Partial Off” mode, momentarily
push the ESC OFF button and the ESC OFF
Indicator Light will illuminate. To turn the ESC
on again, momentarily push the ESC OFF button
and the ESC OFF Indicator Light will turn off.

Full Off — If Equipped
This mode is intended for off-highway or
off-road use only and should not be used on any
public roadways. In this mode, TCS and ESC
features are turned off.
To enter the “Full Off” mode, push and hold the
ESC OFF button for five seconds while the
vehicle is stopped with the engine running. After
five seconds, a chime will sound, the ESC OFF
Indicator Light will illuminate, and the “ESC
OFF” message will display in the instrument
cluster. To turn ESC on again, momentarily push the ESC OFF button.
