Quick question, is there a switch where u can turn them off so they don’t drop down if u wanted it that way
Yes, there is a disable switch. If you turn it off while their retracted they wont deploy when the door is opened. If you turn it off while the one or two are deployed they will stay in that position. I use this allot when offroad or washing the truck.

I have the same lift/tire combo and went with Rock Slide Engineering. You can see my build for some details. They are wirth every penny and save my seats frim in and out wear. Plus Made in USA

The "thunk" on closing is audible feedback that the steps have retracted. Good to know so that you don't drive off offroad and hang them up on something.

I have 2” lift with 37’s and the rockslide engineering steps with the light option. There very sturdy. So got them on the wife JK too. Only thing bad about the JK is if the sensor magnet gets bumped around it becomes a pain. Every bump the step deployees . Have to turn off till can reposition the magnet.
I also have the rockslide engineering steps. So far so good, we'll see. Magnet had me concerned, but I wanted something with a step knowing my Gladiator will be taller than my JL and wife will begin to complain. I had the EVO sliders on my JLU.

As others have mentioned, the audible clunk is noticeable but it's good -- not bad. You can also temporarily disable them so they don't accidentally deploy when you're on the rocks.

@Usethis83 @howerch I've also just installed the steps. They do seem to slam a bit when they close. Have you folks experienced this or does it smoothly shut close?
Yes I listen for it too to confirm they are working. ? I also added the optional gas tank holder. Very easy to install . I like it
