Check these out. Have the oil / transfer case skids. Decided not to get the gas tank one. Lots of JTs on here with them and a lot of wranglers. Price is right, good quality, and light weight. Some pics on my build thread.

Thanks for bringing these guys up. I saw them at the MOORE Expo in Springfield Mo this spring and thought they made a really solid product. I didn't bother getting pricing because tires are my next purchase and thought they'd be really expensive. I stumbled across them again from a web link a couple of weeks ago and was surprised at how affordable they are for aluminum. When I saw them at the show they were very beefy, so I figured they'd be way more expensive. Given the weight, how strong they appear, and lack of really serious rock crawling I do I think they'd be a great option. I'll check out your build thread.

I'd love to get these

I ordered the engine plate on Christmas and still haven't received it yet
They’re never coming.
I ordered my engine skid from QT in like august and never got it. Canceled a month ago and got Asfir skid in like a week or something.
The transfer case skid came after a couple months, it’s the same as JL so I think they’re prioritized more than lower volume JT stuff. It hangs a couple inches lower than the Asfir skid for no reason, I think I’m going to go back to stock plate (though less coverage).
Jeep Gladiator Quadratech, aluminum skid plates, are they good enough for LIGHT duty off roading? 1B20F3E7-1AD0-477E-B79D-9EC7E3038396

Howdy Patrick,

Thanks for your reply. I have looked at those skids and think they would serve my purpose but I would "assume" the shipping from Israel, would kill the good deal price, I may be wrong.

The only thing I don't like about these parts is the GAP between the rear of the engine-transmission skid and the one under the transfer case, I know the chances are slim but stuff could get up there, where we live even the forest service roads have a lot of downed trees or branches, carrying a good chainsaw is a MUST, I have seen limbs stab into and through places you wouldn't think it could ever happen.

Howdy All,

Update to the thread and what I have decided and done. As a metal fabriator and welder for many years, I like steel, yes I know its heavy but it will take a hit and with a big enough Hammer you can pound it out and make it serviceable again, and again................

Thanks for the advise concerning the extremely long wait times going with the Quadratech parts, not going there. I ended up going with the M.O.R.E. engine oil pan-transmission oil pan skid plate and the matching transfer case skid plate. $364 for the engine-transmission plate and $164 for the transfer case with free shipping. Watching the videos they look easy to install and offer the most protection including the cross over exhaust pipe short of a full bell pan system.

Thanks again for all the replies and advice.

Dave

See their Q/A for the engine skid about how a 2.5" lift is recommended. Many other brands also recommend the same. Not many choices if you have no lift.

Howdy bd100,

I read that and talked to the folks at M.O.R.E., you don't need the lift unless your doing extreme wheeling, I don't think that will apply to me and my planned use.

The ASFIR weight & price determined it for me. I have the rubicon express plates on my Sport S and they were pretty heavy but also required a lift or leveling kit. The drive shaft bumped a lot until I leveled it. I've traded it for a Mojave and ordered the ASFIR last Sunday and DHL just delivered them. 6 days from Israel! It took a letter 7 days from Florida! I'm also impressed with their communication so far. We'll see. Now, I just have to get the Mojave here.....any day now.

Good to hear on delivery time too. On the question of if necessary. Over the weekend I somehow got a tree branch stuck up in the transmission lines side about 2in (5cm) wedged in driving down a gravel road in National Forrest. The end of it was being moved around off of the tire, a "Hail Mary" chance of getting there to the point I didn't see it in the road even, I just started hearing what sounded like I dropped front drive shaft or had front axle u-joint failure.. a real WTF moment especially driving in in 2 Hi at 10-18 mph.

Howdy Darrell,

That, is exactly the situation I am concerned about, even on a decent forest service road, $hit can and WILL HAPPEN. Thanks for your post.

Now if I can get the @$$$### on the phone to get my retirement account paid out and get my damn retirement stuff done. I can order it, and keep paying my bills in 2-3 weeks. :swear: :swear: ?
Go figure I got paperwork right during the "systems upgrades" yesterday waiting on phone for hours phone timed out and disconnected twice. This morning a 211 minutes wait time for service. Now a 97 minute wait time. :swear::swear::headbang: to repeatedly hear how "I can do all this online thru the app or web site" B.S. 48 minutes as of now... :headbang: of waiting again.

Howdy Darrell,

As a guy once said, "I feel your pain", I go through this every time I have to deal with the VA, concerning ANYTHING especially the so called health care system.

I've so far got nothing from V.A. go figure. The Army spent over 3 years trying to M.R.B. me out, I was referred to Landstuhl Army Hospital in 94 I was assigned in CONUS at the time.?‍♂ then in 95 the Army sent me back to Germany. Line unit BN Aid station strips out med records and referral to hospital.
