Question on recirculation door on Mojave

I will be asking about the recirculation door right above cabin filter. I understand the button is a push on/off type.
I noticed when I push the cabin air recirculation button the door opens.
However when I push the button once again close the door, the door never fully closes. It will always leaves a quarter inch space from being fully closed.
All my other vehicles recirculation doors will fully close When I push the cabin recirculation button.
Is this normal for the later model gladiators? Or is there a problem with the system?

The system is operating normally, it can close completely if it needs to. Also, part of the programming allows it to open after a set amount of time even when the button still shows recirculation is on.

I was tasked with chasing this exact "issue" on a customer's car once. I found that the recirc door also has to "park" itself at least a little bit open at shutdown to prevent mildew from forming in the HVAC, and no amount of door actuator recalibration would change it.
