Time for my Starlink Mini install!
I'll start by saying that the mounting method is not my idea, however, I spent a decent amount of time trying to find the cheapest way to do it. Some may have already found these exact parts, so I apologize if they've already been posted. I still have to trail test it to see if it holds. I'll be going to the High Sierra Poker Run here in Central California the first weekend of September and will report back!
Parts:
Starlink Mini Mount by Ram Mounts - $34.49

1.5" C Size Ball Mount with 1/4-20 Threads - $12.90
https://a.co/d/09eyWRzw
Heavy Duty Aluminum 1.5" Double Socket Arm - $21.99
https://a.co/d/08ptQWNb
Grade 8, 1/4-20, 4" Bolt - $1.22
Hardware Store
Grade 8, 1/4" Washer - $0.33
Hardware Store
Grade 8, 5/16" Washer - $0.41
Hardware Store
Total: $71.34 (before tax)
The only part this image doesn't show is the 5/16" washer. The top hole on the sport bar is pretty large so I stacked the washers.
Here are the parts assembled. (minus the 5/16" washer)
Here is the sport bar hole. I chose the rear drivers side because my daughter isn't old enough to reach it yet. My 3 year old son sits on the other side and would probably rip it off.
1.5" Ball installed and tightened down.
Starlink Mini mounted and ready to go!
I'll be temporarily using the car adapter kit to the 12v outlet. I'm out of space on the Rubicon aux switches so it's time to look for a new setup!
Once again, I will be testing it in a few weeks and report back!
