Hello all, I've got a 21 Gladiator sport s 6 speed manual. At about 3k miles I've noticed a rattle when I'm around 3k rpm in second and third gear mostly. Noise is heard from about 3k ROM to 3500-4000 rpm. The rattle sound is like a plastic on metal type rattle or even like a dull heat shield rattle (checked heat sheilds and all seem good). It doesn't happen all the time and it doesn't matter if I'm on an incline, decline, or flat ground. Mostly heard inside the cabin as if it's coming from the dash or under the front cabin. If I roll the window down while it's happening I can't hear it (may be wind noise cancelling exterior sound). Only happens when I'm on the accelerator and goes away of I press the clutch down or get off the accelerator. The rattle won't happen if I keep it at rpm while I'm neutral. It's hard to pinpoint the sounds location, but sounds like it's coming from driver's side dash. Went underneath and was checking everything and the only this that somewhat resembles the noise is the shifter linkage on the trans. I've searched all the forums and found the noise happening on manual wranglers but there is never a post on the fix. I don't believe it's engine ping or a heat shield or loose sun visor or hard tops.ive checks all those. Anyone have similar problems?

something probably hitting a resonant frequency. going to be tough to sort out. maybe you could get a camera under it on a dyno so you can see whats happening in gear.

I don't hear the noise when I open the window and try to stick my head out the window. It has to be around 3k rpm and the motor under load since it goes away if I put the clutch in. Im thinking it has to do the the vibration of the engine under load creating a vibration that is rattling something

I am seeing a similar issue. Got my Gladiator used so I thought the original owner droped a nut or stone down the window vent. I tow up I70 in Colorado so I hold that rpm for long periods of time. More noticeable with AC on and/or going up hill. Good news is it's getting less frequent.

I heard a knocking on my '20 JT around 3K rpm for a few weeks and it ended up being "multiple connecting rod bearing failure". Jeep replaced the engine under warranty at 41K miles.

Mine made same noise. Drove 10,000 miles on it and it became worse. Ended up needing passenger side rocker arms, cams and lifters
