Looking to see if anyone else has this noise happening in their Gladiator. I don't remember it happening when I got it new 4 weeks ago, but I may have missed it. When the handbrake is released and moved into the down position there's a metallic rattle. This also happens when you press and hold the thumb button and lift the handle up slightly (like 1/4") and then put it back into the down position - si it doesn't require a full movement of the handle. It only seems noticeable when pressing the thumb button (but that's also the only way to put the handle down).

I'm thinking that maybe the lock mechanism for the ratchet is loose or maybe something else isn't secured (cable guide?). Maybe it's normal, but maybe it's a part waiting to fall off and cause the handbrake to malfunction. I have just under 2000 miles on it. Let me know if you have the same thing happening. Appreciate any help in advance of a dealer visit.

About a month ago, I noticed my 2023 Mojave does the same thing. And I don’t remember it doing this before. Im tempted to unbolt the center console and take a peek at the cable connection, to see if there’s anything that got loose.

My Mojave started doing this shortly after I got it. I've seen multiple threads on it. The two cable bolts are loosening up. There's really good fixit threads on it in this furum. I need to get my hands dirty so to speak and fix it.

Ya, I can't find any threads now. Maybe I imagined it. The tube video looks like the ticket though

My '23 JTRD E-brake started rattling loudly (only when down) within a few days of driving it home, 300 miles from the dealer :).

Others were correct, there are related threads, both here and on the JL page. The attached JL video was less complicated than removing the cup holder and air vents. I also didn't have the CB radio. This method worked perfectly. I did put a tiny bit of Lock-Tite on mine before snugging it up, and it's still quiet. That may cause an issue next time, so go easy on it if you do the same.

Tips:
1) move both front seats as far forward as possible AFTER you loosen the front bolts
2) a 1/4 in ratchet and that long extension with a 6-point deep well 10mm make the job easier
3) See Lock-Tite mention above, I also saw other folks recommend just putting another lock nut behind the factory one, but I did not have one that fit and couldn't find the part number for the nut alone.

Happy Trails
