Twin stick cases are useful for a few things, front wheel drive only, 2wd low range, ect.... Coupled with a cutting break, lets you lock a rear tire and dig with the front to create a tighter turn, essentially pivoting on on tire in almost the same spot. dana 300s, Staks, Atlas', toyotas, 203/205 doublers, and samurai cases were all popular platforms based on the rig you were building. The typically newer Jeep NP cases don't have the ability because of the chain and would get swapped out to one of the above.

The tazer copied the bronco deal and lets you do something "similar", locking a rear tire to help you turn tighter, but the rear still digs so it's not as effective.
