Happy new year, and thanks for reading my post.
During a 260 mile road trip I noticed a hissing sound accompanied by a whirring sound, like I left it in 4 lo and am going too fast, from the center rear of my truck. Sounded like cupped tires or a bad bearing from my experience. The front tires were indeed a little cupped so I rotated them to the back, and put the truck on a lift to locate the noise and see if it was the tires, wasn't the tires still hear a whooshing sound with the whirring. It makes the noise after 30 mph and makes it loud upon deceleration. I thought it might be the rear diff so I changed the fluid. Still have the noise.
I'm also in a pickle because it's a Canadian unit, so repairs are on my dime.

Sounds like it could be a pinion bearing, especially if you notice a change in noise level when on/off the throttle. Unfortunately, if a pinion bearing is going bad or losing preload for some reason, changing the diff oil will not help at all.

See if you can find someone local that works on differentials and knows what they are doing. They will typically have wireless "Chassis Ears" that they can use to pinpoint the source of the noise.

Sooooo took it to a friend, who has a friend that works in the dealership. They did everything the could to warranty the diff of the CA unit here in the states. Never ever buy a fca vehicle from canada in the states. They determined it was the pinion bearing. Kudos to Jeff for correctly diagnosing it on this forum. I'm trading it in for a Tundra. I've done my time with Jeeps, even worked in the industry at a company called Lange Originals for 25 years, and have owned a 89 YJ, 2002 TJ, 2007 JK, 2014 JK 2017 JL, and this 2020 Rubicon Gladiator. I was so excited to finally have factory locking diffs, but I can't do the unreliability of the jeeps anymore.
Mock or disagree, this is a swan song on the internet to lament, morning the fun I could have had in a really cool idea of a truck, that was also a Jeep.
Posted is a picture of the last day with my Jeep. Like saying goodbye to a smoking hot girlfriend, that you knew was bat SH*&( crazy, but you loved her anyway.
