I purchased a USED 2020 Gladiator - LOVE IT!

When removing the top, I discovered the defogger cable is MISSING. I'm not sure if it was cut off or ???. Has anyone had to deal with a missing or cut off cable before? Easy to install a new cable? Just looking for a few hints before I dive in.

Thanks!

Are you sure it wasn't disconnected and stored in its storage compartment?

Edit...Sorry, should have added a picture. Located on driver's side, above the seat belt holder blade. Panel just pops off.

this was my first thought as well. It would've been disconnected if the prior owner had ever taken off their roof

Likely under the cover. I disconnected mine and likely won’t reconnect it. I take the top off way, way more than I would even need a rear defogger.

I think the Soft Top Wranglers don't have the wiring. The Gladiators might be the same?

Maybe the First owner bought it as a soft top and replaced it with a hardtop. Missing the wiring.

Thank you!!! It was there! I am SO happy! I need to find the cover that goes over the connection to the hardtop, as I think the previous owner must have lost that. THANK YOU again!

Thank you for taking the time to reply. 4xJeepr told me where to look, and it was there!

I found it under the storage cover that 4XJeepr told me about. I will probably reconnect it, as I don't see removing the hardtop all that often.

Glad you found it—way easier than replacing it. To be honest, I "lost" my connector when I first took the top off. I looked everywhere before I remembered that I had tucked it back under the frame. (I blame the beer). I would have never found it if I wasn’t the one that put it there.

I am building a house with a garage but live on the second row from the ocean in a rental right now. Everything gets covered in salt spray so I can’t leave the top off overnight so I place it back on or bolt it down if I drive without it. It was one of those things that I pictured myself breaking it if I disconnected / reconnected too often.

I live about 3-miles from the PACIFIC ocean... and will use the Gladiator as more of a "daily driver", and maybe take the top off for 4-wheeling excursions. I'll probably need to go to the dealer to get the little plastic cover for then the hardtop is back in place. Thanks for everything.

My pleasure. I'm happy it was still there as replacing it probably would be quite difficult. Mine has been disconnected for months, I normally leave it concealed for the summer as I take my top off as much as possible.

Speaking of the plastic cover you are missing, contact Benny @AllMoparParts.com I'm sure he could help you locating that cover. The 2020 cover, the one connected to the top is different from later models as a design change was made if I'm not mistaken. The tab broke easily on the earlier models. Benny would know. I'm sure he's probably cheaper than your dealer also.

Again, happy it worked out for you!

Thank you once again... I will contact Benny to see if he can help me procure that cover.
