I don't see that it would be necessary. Safer for their process, maybe............ hard to say.
But if it's just the stop/start killer, it shouldn't bother.
Hmmm… now that it has been mentioned. My Auto start/stop says not ready, cabin heating or cooling. Turn off A/C it say outside temp too high? I do live in AZ at 100+ this month… should either matter???

Crime fighter.
If climate is set to auto, stop start will show that message.
Pretty much, you’ve set the temp to a certain point and the Jeep can’t get there or maintain it if the engine shuts off, so start stop gets cancelled.

Okay, but what if A/C is off it should kick back in correct. I do have. Tazer that remembers last state, on/off but knowing that it should kick back in I assume? Not withstanding the outside temp issue as per my post

That I can’t elaborate on as I’m not a Tazer user. Sorry friend.

Is anyone not doing this recall? I always hate taking my vehicle to the dealership. It seems like they always mess something up. I’ve got 17,000 miles on my Mojave and it runs perfect, but I also don’t want to be stuck in limp mode on the hwy. just wonder how many gladiators will actually have this problem.

Yep, not just auto's either, one time my XDs pistol had a recall. They turned what was originally a great trigger, into a relatively crappy one...But I'll be taking the jeep in, it sounds relatively benign based on posts.

............. only if it hasn't met your cooling or heating setting. I leave mine on auto year around and my ESS works when it reaches my temp setting.
In AZ with the extreme heat is where the problem is.
We've been in an extreme heat thing for the last 2-3 months here - way above normal, temps in the 90s most days and ESS still works once it reaches my temp setting. It doesn't work as often when it's in the mid to upper 90s, but it works.

When it's 96 here and I have the inside temp set to 69 for example, ESS will work after it reaches my 69 setting -
- but if it gets warmer, then I will get this.........

ESS works with AC on.
People keep saying "if your AC is on it won't work" and that's wrong. AC on ESS WILL WORK - if it reaches your temperature setting.
If AC is set to MAX, it won't work. That's in the book about that.
If AC is on in AUTO mode, it will work - if it has reached your desired temperature setting inside.
If AC is struggling to meet your selected temperature either in auto mode or straight AC mode, then ESS won't work until your set temperature is reached.
If the outside temp is over a certain temperature - something like 98 or so, you'll get the message I posted above.

To elaborate - auto or straight AC are exactly the same - if it has reached your desired temperature setting, say you have it set to 69, once it hits 69 in the cabin, EVEN IF IN AUTO MODE, ESS will work.
Auto mode in HVAC has no bearing on ESS working or not.

If I get such a notice, I will take it in. I will be armed with the bit about pulling that radio fuse just in case, but they seem to be on top of that stuff here.
My theory - if the break it, they fix it. and when it's something they have broken, they seem to try harder.

Took mine in for the recall today and got a check engine light 20 miles Later. I don’t consider myself a lucky guy and I can see this churning for weeks n weeks. Dealer told me I can drop it off and I wont
Be with a car for a few days or I can bring it in next Tuesday for them to scan it. Luckily the truck still runs perfect so I’m hoping that it maybe just needs to be reprogrammed again.

Had my new SW loaded this week past, also my first oil change at only 950 miles (well, it is a pleasure craft for me, all joy riding so no commuting which racks up the miles.)

Took her on the interstate on the way home, hard acceleration to over 80 mph...Running nice, maybe even nicer than before the new SW -very, very, peppy in the power-band - but that might just be "placebo effect".
