While I always thought that was cool - there's so very little space back there, it's extremely limited what can go back there (thin stuff, not very tall) they should have locked the area where there's enough space for groceries - under the seat. But they want to charge for locking the seats down and protecting the area where you can stash a lot of expensive stuff.Took me a year to realize that my seat backs lock. Handy when the doors are off.
Lock the teeny space, leave the big space that's' more useful wide open.
