Has anyone had any luck successfully removing the hood bracket bolts? They are T50 and I’m trying to removing them but not having luck. Not to mention now the paint has flaked off the bolts and looks like crap. Not to happy but also want them removed because I was planning on mounting my farm jack on the hood on new mounts. I tried heating the bolts but don’t want to damage the surrounding paint. Any advice is appreciate.

My advice. Don't mount the jack on the hood. Looks dumb, hard to get to and you risk dropping it on the hood when when removing/replacing it. Roll bar mount, swing out or bumper mount is the way to go. I personally leave mine in the garage until a wheeling or camping trip then it goes on the swing out.

Something... something... software.
Or, keep it in the under seat storage in the backseat.

I fabricated brackets to mount the Hi-Lift jack in the bed.

To second or third others post is not sticking over 35 pounds on the hood with a few small bolt in aluminum hood. Years ago I thought I'd mount one of mine on the hood then thinking about what could happen changed my mind. On my XJ it's on the spare tire rack, on Wrangler it on rear roll bar. If in my JT in the bed. Out of weather on latter two. The one in my LJ hasn't probably been moved in more than 5 years. ;)

The best and safest place to mount it is on the garage wall. Will not rattle or rust.
