This could be an early sign of a failing transmission. Mine started with a reverse thunk, then a 3rd-4th thunk. Ultimately, it was replaced completely at 53,000 miles under warranty. I was lucky to get it done before it failed catastrophically or dangerously. It was in the shop for 35 days. The computer reset, by the way, fixed the issue for about two days then it came back.
