Clearly they always had the plan for the Launch Edition. So technically orders did open in April - just that it was only for the Launch Edition. Everything else doesn't matter in a sense... The Gladiator was officially released to the public with the Launch Edition, you could have chose to order, or not to order, but it's still publicly available. No broken promises... although, there haven't been any promises really.
I agree with what you said. The Limited Edition must have been the planned surprise that they said was coming. I remember hearing about a surprise a few weeks back. I wasn’t trying to blame the dealers or anything. I was just wondering if anyone had any inside info as if it was the plan all along to have regular orders in May or they changed their mind and only did LE orders now instead of both types of orders and due to popular demand. At any rate it’s awesome to see them built finally and what’s a few more weeks waiting when we’ve been waiting this long.

Just called my local dealer here in NY, they said they are taking orders but not submitting until May 1st. Heading over there tomorrow to find out more. Has anyone ordered a custom order yet?

I cruised the Jeep lot here in Murrell's inlet, SC today. I normally avoid salesman like the plague, but figured I'd see just how little he knew. Young guy. Under 30. Said they should hit lots by September.......2020. such a shame. He also said he had brochures he wasn't allowed to give out. I didn't tell him my local dealer gave me one a month ago.

Just saw that article on the mobile app this am!!!
I don't believe this is true tbh. If that were true, we wouldn't be getting Concierge calls - if it was all sold out, why bother right?

We have no guarantee they are only building 4190. My local dealer who has been clueless from the start says the computer is still taking LE orders. I bet you'd be waiting until August if you order now, but it sounds like you can still very much have one.

I see on Jeep.com that they are placing people on a waitlist. I think they are getting everyone in line and the first 4190 (if that’s true only 4190) confirmed legit orders will take the first 4190. IMO.

Hope so. Would be unfair to the buyers to make more when people were told there will be some exclusivity to the LE.

Not only unfair, but unethical, and fraudulent. Class action lawsuit would transpire. They don’t want that blemish.

I was willing to pay a bit of a premium cuz of the exclusivity of the LE. I would be happy when I get the truck, but if I see a few in the showrooms at discounted prices that would sting a bit :). I am actually paying more than the Tread Lightly price... like 3% below MSRP... but at this point honestly I don't care about the price anymore after such a long wait LOL

No I don't think it's the dealers fault. I think we were all jebaited with the LE version being scheduled for April, and we thought that would mean all orders were open then. Feelsbadman.
lol Jebaited... you like those twitch contents huh ;)

Happens all the time and wouldnt be unprecedented. Ford did this with the gt40 the mustang king of the road, etc. Said theyd only make so many then made more as there was demand. They aren't the only manufacturer who has done this either.

That's why I stray from buying into the Ltd editions. They usually dont wind up being so exclusive and are easily knocked off. Further the model is often made a regular model less a badge that can be copied.

Manufacturers are in business to make them money, not make you money.

They'll do whatever they feel they need to do so to profiteer off of their business including these Ltd editions that aren't so special after all.

These editions usually get marked up to a few suckers early on, but lose their ability to be marked up once most people finally catch on to the racket. If u buy one just to buy one because you want one, and dont get taken on a mark up, what the heck. But if you sacrifice what you really wanted to get one or got taken on a marked up price, I'm sorry, but you bought into the hype and got hornswaggled.
