Thanks for the info, bud. I have the latest steering box so how do I get it adjusted correctly? It’s a 2022 Overland, just took delivery a week ago.
Bleepin jeep did one a while ago, and here is a newer one showing a gladiator:

I do enjoy floaty Cadillacs… lol
I said this before, but I loved my 65 Coupe DeVille Convertible, but I like basically anything else to ride different. Idk, it’s weird. The whole package of that car put me in a different mindset.

How much better was the air ride in comparison?
It was better, don’t get me wrong it’s not like my back gets jarred in the jeep. Air ride in the rams isn’t all worth it. They have four corner shocks and coils so it’s smooth already. I was surprised the gladiator wasn’t as harsh as I thought it would be.

Completely pointless on a ‘22. Look at the date it was posted.

My stock aluminum gear box was awful. I hated driving it on the hwy. it felt dangerous at times. now I enjoy taking road trips in it. Night and day.

No, an aluminum one just happens to be in the video. I have a steel (black) steering box and the adjustment made a huge difference. Zero dead spot now, and had one before.

But wanted to add that if somehow your box came adjusted tight, don't change it and over-tighten it. But i could move my steering wheel back and forth about an inch and it not turn the wheels with a steel (black) steering box

And my buddy is complaining about it on his '22 JLUR, so i'm going to do his when he gets back in town too

I have zero dead spot and never touched mine. I can take my hands off the wheel doing 80 and keep going straight until eventually the road crown makes me drift.

Also, be careful with that. If you over tighten it, you’ll wear it out prematurely.

That’s kinda what I was thinking, mine isn’t loose at all thankfully. I appreciate all the help

I have the black steel box as well, I think they started putting them in the ‘21 models

Right - see edit. Don't touch yours if you don't have a dead spot. You don't want to over-tighten it.

But just because it's a steel box doesn't mean it's tight. Mine wasn't. My buddy's '22 isn't. It's not "pointless" for a '22. It's relevant for anyone with a steel steering box that has play

You need to lift the front end and cycle the steering lock to lock.

If you over adjust one it can lock up or get harsh at full turn.

I dunno why they ever put a crappy aluminum box to begin with

Because they are under so much pressure to save any weight they can. CAFE standards are a bitch.
They do now though so just should’ve to begin with

My stock JT RUBI was really jumpy on the highway. First Jeep, but I heard they handle the way they handle, fine by me. Drove off the lot on Falken M/T's with tire pressure at 40psi. I got pushed around by big rigs like a paper cup, and every bump in the road was an adventure in crisis management. When I set the psi to 32 it got way better. With a lift, tires, and other mods she drives rock solid. I figure road manners is not the focus of intense research, (thankfully). There's a lot of good info in this forum, research, and find what works.
One should not spend extra expeditures to correct manufacturer's design flaw.

Op may have issues with his truck. My complete stock willy will go 90 without wondering on freeway or makes you jump out the seats on rough roads like superduty trucks.
