Gen #2This looks like a Gen 1, no?
ah right. Must have been the angle in the first photo that made it look like Gen 1 (mismatched profile).Gen #2
the #3 and later don't have 3rd brake light from what I understand. This one does (?)
Currently I have the panels off to get them Line-X coated tommorow. But dang it looks good with them off too but really long looking.
Actually mine could be a Gen 1 since I don't have a "Gen 1 vs: 2" to compare to, I'm going off of RLD USA guys words. It's got a 3rd brake light. I'm going to have to reseal when I get them back from Line-X probably Friday.ah right. Must have been the angle in the first photo that made it look like Gen 1 (mismatched profile).
Anyway, it does look pretty slick with the doors off. Looks like all the full racks offered by the other companies, which is a good thing. Might be an option to complete the look when going full topless?
Gen 1 is easy to differentiate from Gen 2, I’ve had both. On Gen 1 the sides lean in much more than the sides of the JT. Doesn’t match the sides of the truck. First pic Gen 1, second pic Gen 2.Actually mine could be a Gen 1 since I don't have a "Gen 1 vs: 2" to compare to, I'm going off of RLD USA guys words. It's got a 3rd brake light. I thought the same thing on running with out the topper doors I think it looks good too. Better than some of the racks I've seen. I might leave them off for awhile after I get them back, until I get a few things done on it. (??) Not sure more chance of misplaced parts.
My JT probably won't go topless any time but it could be neat.
FYI: anyone about to remove them remove the gas struts first but loosen up other bolts before doing it, have a good place ready to place them. A ziploc bag handy for the parts too.
Well I guess I've got a Gen 1 not a big deal for me it will do for me anyway. I was told I was getting a Gen 2. Since it only cost me $3299.00 with sliding side windows including S&H but white doors but that's being changed right now at Line-X.Gen 1 is easy to differentiate from Gen 2, I’ve had both. I had some leaks in the windows. I live in the NW so that's not good. Adventure Ready offered me the replacement instead of a repair. Which I thought was great of them. I like the look of the Gen 2 better, but that wasn't the primary reason for the change. Maybe there was a Gen 2 with the more sloped sides, but that wasn't my understanding. I think the Gen 1 is a little taller as well. My Gen 2 does not have a brake light.Well I guess I've got a Gen 1 not a big deal for me it will do for me anyway. I was told I was getting a Gen 2. So what made you change from Gen 1 to Gen 2 the look?
Well mine is getting a lot of water in it right now seems like I'm back in the Pac North Wet now here in N. AL. I guess I still have my issued rain cloud still from Ft. Lewis.I had some leaks in the windows. I live in the NW so that's not good. Adventure Ready offered me the replacement instead of a repair. Which I thought was great of them. That is so smart. Been wondering how to build the 4’ table tray. Going to copy you.Well I'll add a new photo's since Line-X job on side panels. And adding Superstrut. For top and inside of topper. Since I'm being a cheapskate I braced 2 scrape piece together on one.
I like to build over buy on a lot of things.. I'm thinking about adding plywood there to have a full shelf up top, and reusing the shipping crate for the topper for things. That is so smart. Been wondering how to build the 4’ table tray. Going to copy you.
Looks a little funny but even more functional as you can lock your stuff in the back.Canopy looks a bit goofy on the back with top and doors off. Who cares when it’s 90 degrees out.
Curious, how did you take the rear top off? Did you have someone help you lift it and over the rear? Front? Sideways? I have the RLD and will need to remove the rear hardtop soon.Canopy looks a bit goofy on the back with top and doors off. Who cares when it’s 90 degrees out.
I set up a pulley system under my deck. I was able to lift the top up onto the roll cage while sitting in the back seat. From there I used a rope to hoist it above the Jeep.Curious, how did you take the rear top off? Did you have someone help you lift it and over the rear? Front? Sideways?
