I'm not sure how often they update their website but Currie Enterprises is not associated with Rock Jock anymore.

Call them and ask. I did.

The split happened in late-2019 and official launch of RockJock 4x4 was in 2020.
AI also said my 3.0 diesel Gladiator takes 5 quarts of oil.

Stop believing AI

You also quoted the part where I said I asked them. That's what they said, AI just provided confirmation. They have a phone number on the website that you can call and ask if you don't believe me.

I actually do development in the AI space, and it can feed you false info if you don't know how to use it. You have to limit it's scope by defining rules for the response.

Next time you use AI, tell it to only provide verifiable information and cite the sources.

As far as I'm concerned, citing AI weakens your argument - it doesn't strengthen it.

I tried about a half dozen ways to limit my query to "2021 Jeep Gladiator Diesel 3.0 Liter engine" and every time it said 5.5 liters. It's one of the most simple and verifiable queries with all needed information provided. If it keeps giving the wrong answer despite this, it just doesn't work reliably and shouldn't be trusted.

Sorry man, but AI is untrustworthy crap. Not only does it fail at what it tries to do, it makes everyone using it dumber and more susceptible to manipulation by the companies running the AI. Look no further than Grok for a blatant example of this.

You've made a couple mistakes... For starters, it's not an argument, it's my experience and you can take it or leave it. Do what you want with it.

When you use a fringe AI data model, you're going to get fringe AI responses. That's your second mistake.

With all due respect, the problem isn't AI. Your negative experience is because you don't know which AI to use or how to use it. They're not all the same, and simply changing the wording of the same question is not how you add accuracy guard rails to an AI prompt.

And yet I can type my query into a non-AI search and get the correct answer immediately, without having to give it special instructions.

it also doesn’t address the repeated problems with AI answers being wrong, manipulated, or just hallucinated. The difference between AI and a search is the human still has to look at the search results and process the information, applying critical thinking. AI products are trying to remove that step, this entire field as it’s currently being applied at the consumer level is eroding critical thinking and logical reasoning. What’s worse is it’s also changing the perception of what is real.

AI isn't replacing search, it's assisting search. When you type your question into search, you need to parse through the results manually so it's not immediate, and if it's an uncommon question, then you might be searching for a long time.

AI uses search results to formulate a response, that's the knowledge base which the language learning model is processing to give you the most likely correct answer.

There's times where you can use it and times where maybe you shouldn't, or verify answers if you do use it. This isn't one of those times that it matters because I have first hand knowledge from speaking directly to Currie, and AI gave the same answer that they did.

Grok is one of the youngest AI data models out there. Don't use it for accuracy, use it for entertainment. Grok also parses information from X which isn't a reliable source of information. Still, the answer it gave you of 5 qts can be explained as the "most probable answer" because that would be the answer for a 3.6.

My favorite right now is Gemini but ChatGPT is pretty good also.

If you want to to build answers and counter points to how it answers your question, and cite which search sources it referenced, you can ask it for that in your prompt.

We're building AI for corporations which use any AI model of the corp's choosing.. Or multiple AI models, but we build the guardrails into the system by default. It's the future of low level customer service, and it consistently performs better than entry level customer service reps.

Anyway, this has gone way off topic again and OP is still getting questions that are ON topic. I'm happy to discuss in another thread or privately but let's respect that people will be coming back to this thread for the original post.
